How to create a Location

This tutorial guides you through creating a new location within Omega. You will learn how to enter essential details and configure settings to fully set up the location.

1. Navigate to Locations Page

To start, you'll need to go to the Locations page, which can be accessed by going to the Admin option, clicking the arrow to the right, and then scrolling to Locations and selecting it.

2. Open New Location Tab

This will load a list of all your active locations. To create a new one, you'll click the yellow circle with the plus in it. This will open a new Locations form with the basic tab loaded first. To start, you'll want to name the location and input a location number.

3. Select Location Type

Select a type for the new location to categorize it appropriately within the system.

4. Access Address Section

Click the Address tab to begin entering the location's address details.

5. Open Timezone Dropdown

Click the Timezone dropdown to set the location's time zone.

6. Enter Contact Information

After you've entered in the address, you'll want to put in the telephone number for the location, as well as the location's email.

Click the telephone number field to enter contact details.

8. Add Location Notes and Save

Lastly, you can input any location notes for the location at this location notes field. We recommend saving after making these changes to not lose any progress. To go back into the location, click the name.

9. Open Location Details

Click the location name to access its detailed settings and information.

10. Assign Pricing Profile

After having created the location and saving it, click the pricing and scheduling tab and assign a default pricing profile.

11. Select Default Pricing Profile

Select the default pricing profile to apply to this location.

12. Search and Select Account

Click the search accounts field to select a default account associated with this location.

13. Set Mobile Radius and Bays

Next, you'll want to put in a mobile radius, which is how far you're going out to service jobs from this location's address. You can also include bays if you have any in shop. If you do not have one, but you do work in shop, we recommend selecting one.

14. Select Bays Option

Choose the appropriate bays option to reflect your shop's setup.

15. Configure Mobile Service and Hours

You can also mark for mobile service and enter in your hours of operation. When you open up the hours of operation, you will see that it defaults to closed. You will want to set your start time and it will default for an end time throughout the week.

16. Set Operation End Time

Click the end time field to adjust the closing time for the location's hours of operation.

17. Update Job Capacity

You can then also update your capacity, which is the amount of jobs per day that you'll be doing.

18. Access Capacity Field

Click the Capacity field to enter the number of jobs the location can handle daily.

19. Confirm Changes

Click Done to save the capacity and hours of operation settings.

20. Set Company Profile

Next, you'll go to the Advanced tab and set the company profile for the account. This can be multiple, but most accounts will only have one.

Click the company profile to associate it with the location.

22. Enter Sales Tax Rates

Lastly, you'll go to the Sales Tax tab and enter in the default sales tax rate for parts and the default sales tax rate for labor.

23. Add Additional Zip Codes

Additional zip codes can be added by clicking this yellow circle and entering in the parts rate.

24. Navigate to Zip Code Entry

Go here to add or modify zip codes associated with the location's tax profile.

25. Save Changes and Complete

After making these changes, make sure to save. And now with this, you have created a second location. To enable electronic ordering from the vendors. Please refer to the "Configuring Electronic Ordering" help article
