How to Configure Costs and Pricing Profiles in Omega EDI

Omega EDI provides robust tools for managing costs and pricing profiles. This guide explains how to configure labor and miscellaneous costs in reports, system limitations for cost configurations, and how to set up pricing profiles for hourly charges.

Configuring Costs in Reports

To populate the “Labor Costs” and “Misc Costs” columns in the Sales Detail Report, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Items page in Omega EDI.

  2. Open each relevant item: - For labor costs, select the appropriate Labor item. - For miscellaneous costs, select the Misc/Freight item.

  3. Go to the Advanced tab and enter a Default Cost for the item.

  4. Ensure the item’s Cost Type on the Basic tab matches the intended column: - Items set as Labor will populate the Labor Costs column. - Items set as Freight/Misc will populate the Misc Costs column.

Limitations of Cost Configurations

Omega EDI supports only a single default cost per labor item. It does not currently allow for varying costs by technician or other job-specific factors. This limitation applies universally across all configurations.

Setting Up Pricing Profiles

To configure labor in a pricing profile so it charges per hour, ensure the following:

  • Set the Labor item’s unit to "each." This configuration will bill labor per hour (e.g., per NAGS labor hour).

Summary

By following these steps, you can effectively manage labor and miscellaneous costs in Omega EDI and configure pricing profiles for hourly charges. Keep in mind the system’s limitation of supporting only a single default cost per labor item. For further assistance, consult the Omega EDI support team or documentation.
